How come you’ve been able to adjust the OS’s accent color in macOS since like forever, but still can’t on iOS?

People pay enormous amounts for iOS apps that are already available as FOSS on Android. Looking for alternatives (European if possible):

After 16 years on Android – starting on 2.1 or 2.2 – I switched to iOS. For years iOS felt far ahead, but I guess I missed some turning point. So many quality-of-life features are missing. 1/4

Just realized my favorite Mastodon client, Megalodon, is deprecated, and @openvibe@mastodon.social won't start anymore. I've switched back to the OG Mastodon app for now.
But what are your recommendations in late 2025?
