Heute ne Weile im Dienstbüro gearbeitet, Grossraum. Alle naselang kommt jemand an mit „kann ich Dich kurz stören?“ Äh, nein? Wenn ich mit Leuten plaudern wollte, würde ich mich mit Freunden verabreden und sicher nicht im Büro am Rechner sitzen. Schon das Beantworten der Fragen bringt mich raus und kostet Zeit, grmpf

@davidlohner Das ist ja ziemlich verschieden alles. Twitter von 2015 ist anders gewesen als „Twitter“ von 2025. Ich habe auch dort immer nur chronologische TL benutzt von meinen Kontakten. Für mich ist WissKomm auf Mastodon also identisch zu „Twitter wie es früher einmal war“ :)
Webseiten sind nicht auf Interaktion ausgelegt, Insta eher ja. Usw.
Vielleicht wäre gut zu zeigen, was „social“ in SoMe sein kann und warum das für WissKomm interessant ist. Auch wenn das Publikum am Ende tiktokt :)

It’s indeed a good thing to not hold international scientific conferences in the USA now and possibly for some time into the future. Communities find other venues and hosts at other places. There might be very minor effects on scientific quality
But: Our colleagues currently based in the US cannot attend as they feel unsure about how to return. And this will have an effect as networking suffers in hybrid or remote-only settings
