Well, human resources is looking into it and hopefully it will get resolved soon. I'm a healthy person so I can wait. No one else seems to have experienced this, which is what I was wondering . It is a weird catch-22 Update: according to the IRS, while marriage certificates are usually enough, you can be required to show a joint tax filing, which finally got approval. So things that weren't accepted: marriage certificate, ss#, co-ownership of house, bank statement

Clarification: I took my husband's last name so my driver's license, ss# and passport don't match my birth certificate.

I really don't like talking about political/personal stuff, but I think this is important.. I was just denied health insurance as a spouse (my husband's new job) because I couldn't prove I was married to my husband. Reason: new "federal policy". First I had to show a birth certificate, not a real ID or SS#, to prove my identity, and then I had to show my marriage certificate. Since the marriage cert. has my birth name, they don't consider it proof I am a spouse. Really. #USPol #healthcare

Two brushfires less than 5 miles away from my house this afternoon, and I just realized we forgot to pack our "go-bags" for this fire season..just a reminder to pack your emergency bag if you live in a fire-prone area (and it seems like that's pretty much everywhere at this point)

I finally finished the Asaro head assignment. I can definitely recommend stretching your drawing paper. I have a tendency to draw fine, sharp lines and the paper softens them to give a more painterly affect, which I like. Also, you can get a lot of precision, especially with the eraser. Now I mutter to myself when I have to erase something in my notebooks.. downside is the extra time involved. Also, I think I'm supposed to varnish it now. #MastoArt #FediArt #drawing

Just a reminder to those painting or photographing outdoors: be aware of your surroundings. I was in a rush yesterday to get a homework assignment done and didn't realize my landscape came with a free mountain lion. Fortunately, my raven friends flew by to say "hello" (yes, I actually have friends that are birds!) They noticed the lion, landed in the tree, and made such loud frantic calls that I saw it and left.
Don't worry, I drew it after I got home.

@dougrutherford@mastodon.art I like the dramatic warm tones you’ve used in your morning landscapes and was wondering if you’d share what colors you are using. I’ve been experimenting with making watercolors from natural pigments and even dye plants (weld) but I’m trying to avoid the cadmium pigments.
