@violetblue@mastodon.social omg T.H.I.S. Thank God I never had to date while living in San Francisco. My girlfriends were put through the emotional ringer from all the Peter Pans. Living in one of the most liberal cities in America, these guys were looking for a traditional girlfriend/wife/situationship to run their household. Loading them up with all of their emotional baggage, instead of seeing an actual therapist. All that unrecognized emotional work. Instead of working on creating a partnership where you share chores and errands and build a life together they would brainstorm ways to poorly replace them with a service. I’m all about optimization, but when it’s always a single 20/30 something year-old dude who grew up in a conservative household with traditional gender roles with too much money you see a pattern. Not a lot of consideration of other people in these decisions they made. Let’s just make a new app and see what happens. PS. I’m happily married to an actual grown ass man. BTW
