Today's one of our quarterly "refresh days" (bonus leave days), probably my career-favourite work perk.
I had a lie-in with a very cuddly ginger tabby (amazing how she gets smoochy when the weather gets cold) and then got the charging port on my phone fixed.
Fixing a phone may not sound like a big thing, unless you've ever had the cable fall out of the phone while relying on it for satnav in the dark in a suburb you've never visited in your life.
I REALLY needed that thing fixed.

Neighbour's dog is barking again. Apparently we have an Anxious Whippet Situation*. Haven't heard the dog before so I suspect either the people are new to the building, or the dog is new to the people.
Hopefully means pooch will calm down as they get used to their new surroundings, but they are driving people a bit spare in the meantime.

Some poor pooch in the building next to us is properly losing its shit. This is not just a lonely dog having a bit of a howl, it's at defcon one. It's really distressing and concerning.

Not a new observation but it's phenomenal how completely the SPA era has destroyed developers' understanding of the actual web platform.
They know heaps of stuff, but it's 100% framework. Total skills lock in.

Chances are you've gone from a fire hose to a trickle, but is that actually bad? You don't have to frantically recreate your old feed. Maybe just slowly add content that makes you happy.
