there are only two genders: people who can put dishes in the dishwasher in a sensible manner, and people who just do some crazy bullshit.

I think part of why I haven’t come out at work is the worry that if I lose my male privilege they will all finally recognize me for the imposter I so clearly am.

Women are only valued in our society when they’re young and beautiful, and I constantly have to remind myself that I haven’t had the value of my womanhood to *me* robbed by not transitioning at a younger age. That’s some bullshit patriarchy has installed in my brain stem but not reality.

“Good news, factory workers! We are throwing out the old machines and putting in brand new ones that do totally different things. You won’t be any more productive, but we won’t train you and you can’t be sure the machine is doing what you expect it to do. It’ll be great! And if it isn’t, it must be a problem with you.” This is what companies going all in on AI are like.

I’ve visited 23 countries which is not nothing. If you were to colour in those states on a political map, it would look like a respectable smattering. But if you were to instead draw lines of where I traveled, it would lay bear just how little of the earth, even the places I’ve “been” I’ve actually seen. It’s a big old globe.

I’ve mentioned this before on here, but I got teased a lot in high school for being gay. I never understood it, and so it didn’t bother me. I had a girlfriend. Since I was still trying to be a dude, I was categorically not “gay”. But obviously I was putting something out that the bullies picked up on. I wasn’t conscious of doing anything; I was trying my hardest to seem like an ordinary guy. Later, lots of people would describe me as camp. No teasing this time, but also people picking up on so...

When we draw stick figures or children begin drawing, we use circles and ovals. This graffiti from Pompeii is striking to me in its angularness of its stick figures. Is that just a stylistic choice, or reflective of how stick figures are drawn in a place and time with different tools as standard? If you’re used to drawing lines in the dirt or scratching them into stone or wax on wood or whatever, maybe ovals are harder than when you have pencils and crayons on paper?

If the cool S was a three dimensional object in which a loop has a twist (as I’ve tried to illustrate here—the “ends” of the S not terminating but instead connecting behind the middle of the S), then if you flipped it over onto the other side it would still be a cool S. I think that’s pretty neat

fellow trans women: did you have certain outfits or items of clothing you wanted through the years? for me, when I was very young, I wanted bright pink corduroy overalls. At some point later on, it was waffle knit long sleeve shirt with flowers on. I longed for hoodies with thumb holes. Mary Jane’s were a fascination. More recently at some point in my late 20s I really wanted a black pinafore dress with a white turtleneck.

I wonder if the adhd has anything to do with why I can’t do YouTube videos. Give me something to read through instead, that I can attack at the same pace as my impatient brain. Insta style reels however are completely deadly for me.

today feeling like I’ve been HRTing for 1.5 years and all that’s changed is my hair is longer and I have new glasses and I’m looking at pictures of that handsome father I used to be and feeling like I’ve blown up my life in search of something I’ll never achieve, that was denied to me at birth and will be denied to me until death.
