I’ve mentioned this before on here, but I got teased a lot in high school for being gay. I never understood it, and so it didn’t bother me. I had a girlfriend. Since I was still trying to be a dude, I was categorically not “gay”. But obviously I was putting something out that the bullies picked up on. I wasn’t conscious of doing anything; I was trying my hardest to seem like an ordinary guy. Later, lots of people would describe me as camp. No teasing this time, but also people picking up on something I didn’t realize I was putting out there. I don’t have a point.
