Welp, I discovered how some slopcoders are hiding their tracks: by not using GitHub. See, it's pretty easy to fingerprint a repo where Claude is used on GitHub, just block Claude (the user) and you'll get a warning on each repo it touched. You uh, can't do that on GitLab. QSOE Systems has been doing some actually interesting stuff involving RISC-V OS development, taking cues from ye olde QNX and the IBM PC. But in this day and age you need to be leery of projects like these, becaus...

Dear lazyweb, is there a way to send keyboard scan codes from PowerShell on Windows 11 without compiling or installing software? And if so, what's the scan code for F24? Would really help me solve a long-running issue at work if I can avoid needing to buy and configure a macropad to do this.

oooooooghhhh I need to rant about Amiga emulation being a total prick to me right now So, I wanted to rip some graphics from an Amiga game to potentially use in my Sonic 1 ROM hack project. The game in question is "Kid Chaos", which is a Sonic clone itself. Kinda fun too! My goal is to get the tiles, because I am interested in the foreground and background graphics, in particular the backgrounds to make my hack look a bit more unique than just reusing the old BGs from Sonic 1. Now th...

Oh wow, a ton of 86-DOS source code was recently recovered and released! Tim Patterson dug out the original source printouts from his garage, and they've been scanned and OCR'd back into files. The original printouts are going to the Interim Computer Museum, full scans in PDF format are on archive.org, and the reconstructed source code was released by Microsoft under the MIT license. There's some truly interesting stuff here! Links: https://opensource.microsoft.com/blog/2026/04/28/...
