If Platner raped that woman he also fucked us out of a chance of dislodging Susan Collins.

David Sirota demands specificity from the critics of socialism since the only socialism offered in America consists of popular government programs that people depend on. This is the right ask: “Tell us specifically what you have a problem with.” Because the specter of “evil communism “ is just a bullshit scare tactic meant to prevent medicare for all from happening, to lower taxes on billionaires, and to rollback regulations while bailing out banksters and technofascists with public resources....

Americas tech sector is such garbage. I am sick of it. When I manually select or adjust something, automation should NOT change that setting back. If I turn off "smart features" they should be fucking OFF. If I want to use a phone without the bluetooth earbuds, the earbuds should not take over the audio in the middle of a fucking call EVER. The problem is that the device and the software are never considered the property of the user. This has much deeper problems than just...

Housing is overly privatized and the financial sector is overdependent upon it for profits. This is why we have a housing crisis. The YIMBYs and Abundance people pretend that these are not the problems and that "planning" is the problem. The result of the deregulatory agenda pushed by industry front groups like CA YIMBY is ironically a more fucked up planning process due to the conflicts that bills like SB330 create when they empower developers to push profit maximization ev...

This is an important listen. Graham Platner does not have generational wealth. He’s a regular person running for office. We all need to be thinking about doing this or supporting someone like us that is doing so. It is hard but only people like us - people who work for a living - should be in government. https://youtu.be/cecJpqDDQwo

Anti-Democratic sentiment is so fucking prevalent in the US. Some of it is very similar to the arrogant eliticism of Hillary R. Clinton's labelling of poorer right-wing voters as "Deplorables". She was manipulating people with the same tribalism that infects "resistance Democrats" who hate Trump voters and the professional urban classes who hate rural "hicks" and urban "homeless" and condescend to everyone else. Am...

BART is breaking down more often because BART leadership chose to respond to declining fares during COVID by hardening the system with police and fare gates. Dependence on fares was exposed as unreliable and a risk to the system. Instead of recognizing that and shifting to taxation over time BART leadership chose to throw police at this problem and thereby increase expenditures on non essential services while sacrificing the maintenance of the system. Over policing, security, and surveillance...

So many embrace the politics of death. What the fuck is wrong with the people who care more about their job or profits than life? I’m thinking about the assholes at Bayer covering up the fact that roundup is carcinogenic and we all know that it is. I’m thinking about the oil execs who cover up climate change research, and push denial. I’m think of lawyers who defend this.
