Anti-Democratic sentiment is so fucking prevalent in the US. Some of it is very similar to the arrogant eliticism of Hillary R. Clinton&#39;s labelling of poorer right-wing voters as &quot;Deplorables&quot;. She was manipulating people with the same tribalism that infects &quot;resistance Democrats&quot; who hate Trump voters and the professional urban classes who hate rural &quot;hicks&quot; and urban &quot;homeless&quot; and condescend to everyone else. Americans hate each other instead of the billionaires. We don&#39;t trust how those other people vote or think instead of distrusting the billionaires who spread divisive bullshit in the media that they own to distract us. And so the knee jerk notion amongst the masses is to take away those other people&#39;s rights. Liberalism in the US devolved into a very shallow form of Libertarianism in which only YOU matter, and everyone else is a problem that you have to deal with. The rich did this to you deliberately, and it helped usher in Fascism.

One of the biggest piles of steaming shit in the American psyche is the sense that Liberalism is primarily about Individual Freedom. This is where Libertarianism comes from. Liberalism balances collective responsibility with individual freedom. Libertarianism in the US is anathema to any form of governance and social organization because it eliminates all collective responsibility and solidarity in favor of an individual's rights over everyone and everything else. Libertarianism only has meaning as advocacy for individual rights within a functional Liberal government. It is not an actual political philosophy with a workable theory of social organization and governance. Libertarianism is also not a revolutionary ideology because solidarity has no real place in it. This is why Libertarianism has been pushed by billionaires in the US, and why the US is falling apart with their ascendance. It is merely a cult of self above all others. In light of this consider how isolated and narcissistic we all are.
