    the last people who lived here decided to bypass the light switch for the bedroom ceiling fan. their solution was to run an appliance cord through the attic. i don't know why they felt the need to bypass it but it may have had something to do with the "splice" someone made on the original nm cable by electrical taping the wires together

    i got one of those all-in-one desktop IAQ meters for like half off and it kind of sucks. the polarizer seems to be wrong? like it's darkest looking straight on and brightest at a very oblique angle. also the CO2 meter does go up if i blow through it but never gets above 500 even in a closed room. the VOC and formaldehyde readings did spike when i brought it into the shop after planing a bunch of pine (CO2 shot up too...). the particulate matter sensors seem to do absolutely nothing---even bu...
