Ooft the new Scottish Premiership season starts and Rangers are losing 1 nil at half time to Dundee United, I wonder if the bookies have started taking bets on who will replace Derek McInnes.

I see Reform UK, the supposedly insurgent party in UK politics has failed badly in another major election. Labour were within a few percentage points of winning the Manchester Mayorality election outright on 1st choice votes (50% required) but easily won when 2nd choice votes were counted.

Well that's a strange one. The Morrisons Supermarket about half a mile from my parents house had been thru 2 rounds of planning permission over about 5 years and eventually got planning permission for a McDonald's taking up about a third of the existing car parking space. It's been over a year a not a brick has been laid. All of a sudden the petrol station is shut to be extended and a Greggs added to it

Off to vote in the Scottish Parliament elections. For the uninitiated you can vote at age 16 and over, you get two votes. One vote is a first past the post constituency vote for a candidate and the second is for a Party (or independent candidate) from a regional list. Although not strictly PR, the system is designed give a more proportion outcome. You also don't have to be "Scottish" to vote, just normally resident in Scotland and forfil the criterion that allows you to...

Info for any one wanting to vote Green in the Scottish elections make sure you vote for the Scottish Green Party. I was looking at the Candidates for my area on the BBC website. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0ljrp76ywxo On my region list there is a party called "Independent Green Voice" described by wikipedia as " a minor right-wing political party in Scotland. Founded by Alistair McConnachie," I saw mention of this before and wanted to confirm th...

Lots of the AI products I have been seeing advertised seem to be sales tools, CRM's etc. The irony is that we are almost certainly heading for an historic economic crash due to the overhype of AI. Thats a lot less sales to make with your AI sprockle gromit uber sales maker.

Scottish Parliament Elections take place on the 7th May 2026. Each voter gets two votes. Vote 1 is the standard first past the post where you vote for a candidate in your constituency (district). 73 members are elected by this manner. Vote two is the Additional Member system. You vote for a Party or Independent candidate from a list. This is vote is an attempt to bring some Proportional Representation to the system but doesn't absolutely guarantee. 56 members are elected in this ma...

I haven't seen it, but SNL UK suffers from one fundamental problem and that is a paywall. I can't help but feel that to be a broad success it would need to be on a FTA terrestrial channel. Even the comeback of Mock The Week on a lesser know FTA terrestrial channel (TLC) may not be enough for the long term comeback of a previously established show. I am not commenting on actual shows. I have actually been watching new Mock the Week having not watched for a long time before it fi...

Maybe I am misunderstanding something but it seems to me that laws in various places which require age declarations for OS's are going to make all vintage machines with ROM based fixed OS's illegal in those locales. I cannot tell my ZX Spectrum my age so that it will only load age appropriate software when I use it.

I lost a small sliver of tooth about 2 weeks before I was due for my regular checkup. It wasn't bothering me other than a roughness on my tongue when I touched it. So today was the big day. Turns out it was small piece of filling that I lost and I had forgotten was a filled tooth. It was fixed in 5 mins, no numbing needed. In a way I am glad it was an old filling rather than a bit of actual tooth that had gone bad. The rest of my mouth was fine.

Since I started cycling a month ago after a 12 month hiatus I keep a keen eye on the weather, I am mostly looking at wind speeds. I have a full set of waterproofs so if it rains meh BUT wind is another level. Especially as the places I go locally are quite hilly. My parents house is 5 miles at the other end of town and it is very uphill. The upside is that it is all downhill on the way back. Anyways I am about 80% "bike fit" at the moment another couple of weeks and I shall be...

Thing I miss about Twitter when it was less Nazi. Local council had/has a presence & one time tweeted a picture of a street light that had fallen to a 45 degree angle overhanging a path. It was acknowledged & dealt with. Today I want to complain about a terrible footbridge repair. There were lots of pot holes on it and it was painted up with arrows to show the holes. Today I saw a fucking mess with filler all over the path eroded out the holes in less that 3 days. I phoned, waiti...
