Scottish Parliament Elections take place on the 7th May 2026. Each voter gets two votes. Vote 1 is the standard first past the post where you vote for a candidate in your constituency (district). 73 members are elected by this manner. Vote two is the Additional Member system. You vote for a Party or Independent candidate from a list. This is vote is an attempt to bring some Proportional Representation to the system but doesn't absolutely guarantee. 56 members are elected in this manner.
