  For anyone who wants to support them by buying merch, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign shop is now open again until 19 October. Amongst other things, they sell keffiyehs (kufiyas) made by Hirbawi in Palestine (though only the black on white and red on white designs). Hirbawi's own shop is currently showing everything sold out so this is a good opportunity to grab one.   Scam call from 01 578 4968 Today I got a scam call, allegedly from the above (Dublin, Ireland) number. The caller sounded female and had a strong Indian-sounding accent. Modus operandi was SIM hijack. She claimed to be from Vodafone and said I was entitled to discounted bills as I was a good Vodafone customer. I had to keep asking her to repeat stuff - partly because I was in a noisy environment, partly due to her accent, partly because she was speaking so fast, but mainly to waste her time...

  So, this "presidential review" by Fianna Fáil (AKA "how did we fuck up on our nomination?"). Would it be reasonable to say that few outside of the party faithful actually give a flying feck? I certainly don't, other than the fact that anything that makes FF (and Micheál Martin in particular) look stupid and inept is always a bonus. #MastoDaoine

  PSA: Don't split your butt! For #MastoDaoine and others expecting sub-zero (Celsius) temperatures in the next few days: if you have a plastic rainwater butt, partially drain it whilst you can.   DPD Ireland - worst courier in the country since the demise of Fastway. Today, DPD Ireland "delivered" a parcel. I use the term "delivered" in inverted commas because, as usual, they didn't bother to come to the front door and ring the bell (I was home), they simply dumped the box on my garden wall where it could be rained on and/or picked up by a casual thief.   #Mastodaoine Just renewed my Irish passport card online. The passport itself is good for another 5 years but for some reason passport cards only last 5 years, rather than 10. I was bracing myself for the ordeal as these things are usually frustrating from start to finish. But, no. First picture I took was accepted without issue, lots of details to enter, but all fine. Paid my €35. All done. Still a couple of gulps of coffee left.
