How hard is it to implement ranked voting in #Mastodon? I participated of a vote today and I wish I could choose a second option (which, accidentally, was the winner of the vote).

IIRC the first big things I bought after I moved from my parents were a bed and a refrigerator. To be fair, I got those on sale: they both had defects. :HoloGrumble:

I checked a torrent I uploaded in Nyaa years ago: it has more seeders than the original translation I based on. Sure, I improved upon the original translation in some ways, but I have to consider something really important: Maybe the first time people are watching this anime is no longer the old subjectively bad translation, but the one I made. Not that I think "wow, I made history", it's a terrible anime, I just fixed typesetting, added a second language track, added some fansu...

What do people use to connect a laptop or phone to a sound mixer with minimal lag? Bluetooth isn't an option, unbalanced audio is horrible (sometimes you can hear radio from some cables, mainly cheap ones) and people say USB-XLR cables are horrible. Are there mixers with USB-C input? Even if there are, the sound mixers I often have to deal with only support 6mm TS jacks and XLR. I saw some with RCA inputs and 3 mm TS jack input, but never USB input, not even the most expensive mixer I dealt...

I find it interesting when in the live streaming before the service starts people ask "if you can come to the church, come here", but after it starts suddenly they say it's overcrowded. I guess it's one of the reasons people prefer watching the live instead of going there

I'm annoyed that someone in Reddit complained about sexualization of children in anime and used Asuka from Neo Genesis Evangelion as an example. That's not a good example... The worst example I can give is Hinako Note. Why? Because Hinako Note would be a really awesome cute girls doing cute things anime if it wasn't for the sexualization and lewd poses of the girls. That anime didn't need at all! Surely, you can say "but the target demographic is old men", but I dig...

I guess I'm going to sub Maomao no Hitorigoto to Portuguese and English properly. There was a group that translated to English, but they made it following Crunchyroll standards (aka military-grade). #fansubbing #anime #enshittification #apothecarydiaries #KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

It does not look good! I guess I should just reimplement most of this throwing away the unused parts (or everything, the way I designed this script is annoying to use). #coding #nodeJS #javascript

Watching Kusuriya no Hitorigoto dubbed for two reasons: Wifey. The subbed version is worse. It's really funny because lots of characters have names that sound funny in Portuguese: Lady Lishu -> Lishu sounds exactly the same as Lixo, which is trash. Which is sad, because she's not trash but a cutie patootie.Gaoshun sounds like Gaúcho. Bah tchê!Basen sounds like he would work for Bacen

I wonder who will resurrect the ASSv5 project. I have some suggestions: Let's use a better name.It can be funny, fine, but the ass joke got old. Klass? Better Unified Timed Text? B. Instead of event types per dialogue line, keep a style field and THEN put the event type on the style It reflects the way people currently organise subtitles, dialogue on their own styles — main, mainalt, top — and typesetting on their own separate styles. Also, style not being a dialogue line tag would requi...

You know how the Chinese alternative to Uber is going well when the driver's car breaks and the support interface in the app is in Chinese. :AquaYeah:

In the Chinese Uber alternative you can choose what to pay (within a limited range). I regret choosing a number (within the lower range) related to the fascists just so drivers (which are often right-wing) are more likely to accept the ride. He spent 10 minutes criticizing a gay couple and a weird guy that looked like was going to mug them. :HoloStare:
