  On Letterboxd, I wish I could permanently filter out any list with more than, say, 200 movies in it. Whenever I think, “Is this film in a list of other films I might like?” it's all, “10,001 films to see before you die", “2,000,000 movies with ‘e' in the title”, “3 billion films that have sound”. Great, really useful, well done.

  Around this time every year I move last year's emails from the general Archive mailbox into a separate one for that year. Why? Because in the 1990s Eudora didn't cope well when mailboxes got too big, so I feel the need to please the email client gods by continuing to do this, whatever app I'm using.

  #Frontend #HTML people - do you set a maximum line width in your editor for HTML files? If so, what is it? It seems less useful for HTML compared to programming languages but in all these years I've never really stopped to think about what, if anything, I should set it to.

  I need to add OCR data to a 6.5 MB PDF of scanned text. - pdf2go.com makes it into a 31 MB file - ilovepdf.com makes it into a 10 MB file - ABBYY FineReader makes it into a… 2 MB file! The latter doesn't *look* noticeably different to the original. I really do not understand PDFs.

  I wonder what percentage of people paying for Flickr annually are, like me, thinking, “£74 is too much for something I rarely post to, but I feel held hostage by the 20 years’ worth of old photos I’m hosting on it.” Every year I wonder what to do, and never reach a conclusion.
