I need to add OCR data to a 6.5 MB PDF of scanned text.
- pdf2go.com makes it into a 31 MB file
- ilovepdf.com makes it into a 10 MB file
- ABBYY FineReader makes it into a… 2 MB file!
The latter doesn't *look* noticeably different to the original. I really do not understand PDFs.

Tried a larger file – in the process of OCRing a 72 MB PDF, ABBYY FineReader also reduced it to 26 MB in size, without its content looking any different. I hadn't previously managed that much compression using online PDF compression tools, without losing noticeable quality. All quite confusing. But useful.
