I had a dream last night that there was a device that could measure inner overwhelm. I was in a loud room with lots of people and had to cover my ears and close my eyes, and it registered my inner scream. #AuDHD

I realized today that that “worse on purpose” website (whose article on cookware has been making the rounds) is almost certainly coded by “AI”, and at least one of their articles was almost certainly “AI”-generated. Even articles on enshittification are enshittified.

@APBBlue Let me guess: the warranty just expired?

I wonder if I just signed my own death warrant. My workplace, which is very pro-“AI”, sent out an LLM-usage questionnaire, asking for candid responses. One of the questions was a set of checkboxes asking which types of services I use “AI” for. It was a required question, so I could not submit the form without checking at least 1 of the boxes. I chose the least-impact option, & explained in the textarea below that I don’t really use it for anything. I explained that I find “AI” use unet...

Lovely. A water main break in eastern Forsyth county has left parts of Winston-Salem, Walkertown, and Kernersville without running water. When water is restored, there will be a boil-water advisory. Fortunately this does not directly affect my house, but it will affect a lot of my friends.

Within the next few hours I am supposed to be receiving a bare-root crabapple tree, to keep the two apple trees in my backyard company. I already have two crabapples in the front yard. This new one, though, is supposed to yield large fruit (for a crabapple, anyway) that is good for making jelly. I remember years ago eating candied crabapples served with sauerbraten. Maybe I'll try something like that too. #Gardening

First cocktail I’ve made in a very long time. I call this the Serpent of Chaos. Equal proportions of rye, sweet vermouth, and my homemade mole liqueur. Sweet, bitter, spice, chocolate, with a peppery finish. #cocktails

This is Missy on one of the high catwalks above our entryway. She loves being out of reach of everybody. If I get on tippytoes and reach up toward her, sometimes she will reach a paw down and we almost touch. #CatsOfMastodon

This morning I had a stress dream. My family was part of a large carpool/caravan driving east from southern California. We were supposed to make it to Minneapolis in 2 or 3 days, and thence to somewhere on the east coast. On day 1, about 60 miles in, we all stopped at a Denny’s, and were still there 4 hours later. The incessant noise from shrieking kids (plus unmoving lines of people) caused me to have a full-blown autistic breakdown. I decided maybe to hitchhike back home... Then I woke up.

I am working on labeling some bottles of, uh, liquid Xmas gifts. I was supremely irritated to discover that I have to create a profile on Avery’s website in order to download their document templates. I refuse to do so on principle. It's ridiculous that I have to surrender my info to use something I bought. Thus, I created an Inkscape template for Avery 5657 (2-inch round labels). If you happen to have other Avery templates & would be willing to contact me, I'd like to create a free...
