@nuwagaba2@mastodon.social I have a vegetable garden (nothing in it yet this year except for herbs and a couple tomatoes, but I have pepper seedlings started indoors) and fruit trees, vines, and bushes: apple, quince, pawpaw, apricot, peach, cherry, blueberry, fig, elderberry, raspberry, blackberry.

@nuwagaba2@mastodon.social I just read about it on your website! I help support an Orthodox priest in Kenya who also farms many of those same crops. The pawpaws in Uganda are likely to be what we call papayas (Carica papaya). What we call the pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is a fruit that is native to North America. It is fragile and doesn't survive shipping, so it is almost never sold in stores. I do not think it could be grown outside of its natural growing area. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asimina_triloba
