@Troggie@beige.party @Erased_Citizen@cupoftea.social I agree it *should* work. But it's not recognising my keyboard plugged into it. Which is really mean of it. I will continue to fiddle because I'm convinced this is the way!

Much excite for axe throwing tomorrow morning (hopefully). It just feels like a fun thing to do. I think I also need a mace.

Bit of a random one but if anywhere can help, it's the Fedi: My friend is naming a photo that's going up in my bathroom. It's of a puffin that looks incredible and then you realise it's doing a massive shit. He wants to name it *Fratercula Arctica Cacare* But we've essentially just made up the Latin at the end. Can anyone help with the #Latin and make sure it makes sense? I wouldn't want any native speakers to come by and laugh at our amateur language skills.

Has anyone tried Loops earplugs for sleeping? They have some sleeping earplugs "even for side sleepers" but I'm dubious. I recently bought my first pair of Loops (the experience ones) which made a music concert a far more enjoyable thing and immediately bought two more pairs for different bags. So I'm already sold on the brand, it's just this new product I'm curious about. #loops #earplugs

#3GoodThings - Another day, another lengthy and deep conversation with colleagues. - Ticked off lots of organising jobs around the house. - Messages from close friends making me smile.

#3GoodThings - I promised to record a song for my friend. All week I thought about what to play and practised a lot... Then today the perfect song came to me and I learnt it super quick. Yes, it was from Groundhog Day. How did you know? - Jenkins did some epic zoomies before I went to work early this morning. His kick flip was incredibly high. - I put all of my mugs into the new kitchen. I have a lot of excellent mugs.

It happened. Today I feel like I *need* a run. I'm looking forward to getting on that treadmill at the work gym because I know it will fix me. It will work my muscles and force my brain to get out of its arse because I'll be pushing so hard. It took several months of hating it and every time wishing it was over. But now (I still wouldn't say I enjoy it) I want to do it. My brain needs running. My 'tism needs running. It's the best way I've found to regulate my emoti...

Haven't even lived here 24 hours and Jenkins just did some epic zoomies. I suspect he loves his new fully carpeted room! #JenksterFreitag

After more than 6 months, tomorrow we move house. This is a big step and genuinely feels scarier and more significant than getting married. Up to now, none of it felt real. It's going to be a very exciting few months. Someone hand me a paint brush!

#3GoodThings - Packing up the house is moving along nicely. Moving day is Friday. I'm excited to get painting. My grandpa was a painter and decorator his whole life so I think he'll be proud I'm doing all of that myself. I love it. - Last week's extreme excitement buzz is now a constant hum of warmth as it appears my new friendship is continuing quietly and consistently. I feel so much less alone and like my people really are out there (not just hiding on the Fediverse). - My...

#3GoodThings - I have a friend I've written to roughly once a month or so for the last 16-ish years. Today I wrote a super long one to her, which she will love. - I had a snooze and still fit in all my jobs I needed to do. Most of which involved leaving the house. - Jenkins is a cunning blueberry stealer. No one would ever notice him because he's just so sly.

It's been about a week and I've had a complete loss of appetite. As someone with a bowel disease, I can assure you this comes with no other symptoms whatsoever. No pain or blood or anything. That's all healthy and normal. But I know that loss of appetite can come with stress so maybe it's that, but good stress? Eustress? Because I've been so overly excited and happy. Could that be a thing?

Can anyone recommend a good book for how to look after roses? Like a manual I can refer to when I wonder what's going on. I'm UK-based and I'm about to have a garden filled with roses. I want them to flourish but my knowledge is limited to chopping their heads off at the right time. #gardening #roses

OH MY GOOOOD It's only Friday. Haven't even done the thing I'm excited about tomorrow. It might be shit but right now I'm fucking BUZZING. BZZZ BZZZ. Hello bees. How are you? I'm fucking GREAT. I never thought I'd feel like this again. I was so miserable and vacant of hope. And I remember when the plug came out and it all became possible. It was seeing Groundhog Day on June 17th 2023 and now I'm here and I'm fine and fuck I could just cry all the happy tears but...

Gynaecology called me today saying, "sorry you've had to wait so long on the waiting list for this follow up appointment. Are you free tonight?" And that was when I discovered apparently I've been on a waiting list? I asked if they knew what this was for and she said no. So. I guess we'll find out later!

Question for people who went to big music events in the 1970's: My mum did this. But she can't remember how she got the tickets. Was there a phone number? How did you pay? Was it a cheque in the post and hope they still had tickets left? Her memory has completely gone about it but I'm hoping the people of the Fediverse might have some experience and memories that might help. #AskFedi

#3GoodThings - An old teaching assistant reached out to me because one of my old teacher colleagues is retiring. She asked if I wanted to write a little message for the retirement book. I went very extra but I know she'll love it. - First session with a counsellor. It was really productive and more validating than I expected. - Our house move has finally been confirmed. Now comes the round of furniture buying so we have something to sleep on and somewhere to chill my snacks.

I thought today was Tuesday and that tomorrow is Wednesday but then I realised it's Thursday right up until National Express said "get ready for your trip tomorrow!" which is actually on Saturday so today must be Friday.

#3GoodThings - Still basking in the holiday glow and feeling distractedly happy. - Changed shifts at work tomorrow because someone wanted the evening off. That means they're doing my morning shift, I'm doing their late shift, and I don't have to set an alarm for the morning! - Refilled my Parker ink cartridge with a small syringe and a bottle of ink. The cartridge was successfully filled. My hands were successfully covered. I didn't spill any anywhere. We count this as winnin...

I sent a message to Richard Jones (the Soldier of Illusion from BGT) after seeing him perform twice last week. This morning he sent me the sweetest reply, remembered who I was when we had a little chat, and now I want to be a magician even more! ❤️

Very sad that I didn't get tickets to see my close personal friend Sir Kenneth Branagh in The Cherry Orchard. It's probably for the best. I have no idea what's happening to me but there aren't enough wet floor signs in the world if I saw that play.

All these countries around the world and the one place I can't get phone data? Guernsey. Fucking Guernsey. A little island that's part of my own damn country, and I have to get an eSim to access foreign networks. But also, now that I've been here, I never ever have to come back. 👌

Something that gives me hope for the human race: You know when you're on a boat/train/bus or something, and you see people far away also on a boat/train/bus or something and you start waving even though you will never meet, never speak, never know them? We wave to say, "hello fellow human! I see you!" It serves no purpose. It's such a human moment. I love it.

#3GoodThings - After many shenanigans involving delayed and cancelled trains, my mum made it safely to my house. - Jenkins did zoomies for the first time in several days. - I handled many stressful tasks, managed anxious people, comforted sad relatives, and made my living space a mess to accommodate others today. As I lie here ready for bed, I don't feel overwhelmed and drained. My brain is actually functioning at the moment. It's so weird that this is possible.
