Something that gives me hope for the human race: You know when you're on a boat/train/bus or something, and you see people far away also on a boat/train/bus or something and you start waving even though you will never meet, never speak, never know them? We wave to say, "hello fellow human! I see you!" It serves no purpose. It's such a human moment. I love it.

@miffyhelen@beige.party I do that all the time at Disney World if I'm on the ferry. I also do it for every cast member launching a ride or when the ride is leaving the load platform. It's fun. :ablobcatmeltwave:

@miffyhelen@beige.party I remember my parents telling me to wave like that when I was little. Now when I do it, I feel happy , like I am 5 again. Some years ago I dressed as a mime, together with friends. We sailed along the canal from Sowerby Bridge to Salterhebble and back , waving at small children and getting them to wave back, pulling mime faces and everything. It was the most fun I had in a long time.

@miffyhelen@beige.party Boats, especially boats. Everyone waves at everyone else. For me it’s part of being on the water. I judge those that don’t wave. I was also very happy seeing the Dad of my godson teaching him to wave at the train driver as they came into the commuter station. Almost always a wave back too.
