  La Pierre Plantée (Mayrac): A menhir near the hamlet of Le Faget, in the commune of Mayrac, Lot. We have just received this photo and the terrible news that it has been completely demolished.   Killamery High Cross: Standing in the graveyard at the monastic site of Killamery some 10 miles N of Kilkenny. A monastery was established here in 632 CE by St Goban, a disciple of St Fursey. The high cross is 3.06 metres (10ft) tall and dates from the 9th century CE. It is richly sculptured on the shaft of the E face with what are thought to be three marigold flowers.   Bolshoi Zayatsky Stone Labyrinths: Approximately 20 stone labyrinths of various designs and sizes on the uninhabited island of Bolshoi Zayatsky in the Solovetsky archipelago, White Sea, along with around 600 stone cairns. More 1/

  Chrysa Temple of Sminthian Apollo: The remains of a 2nd century BCE temple of Apollo which measured 42 metres by 23 metres and originally had an arrangement of 14 by 8 columns. There has been some restoration on one corner as you can see. The Greek town of Chrysa, now in modern Türkiye was founded via the amalgamation of other nearby Greek settlements. 📷 longhintim More:

  Devil's Churchyard Stones: Stones near the Devil’s Churchyard - These may or may not be stones connected with the rumours and folklore of a megalithic site at The Devil’s Churchyard a little to the west. They are the best and nearest possibility of something megalithic surviving nearby, with big slabs of oolitic limestone.   Pind Howe South (Danby Rigg): A denuded bronze age round barrow sited towards the southern end of the flat summit of Danby Rigg. Low lying, standing about 2ft high with a large upright stone just to to the north west (315°) of the centre of the barrow. This stone which in itself stands 2ft high stands out clearly on the flat summit indicating the location of the barrow within the landscape. 📷 johndhunter More:

  Wogan Cavern: Recent excavations have so uncovered rare evidence of early humans and animals - including the bones of a hippopotamus which roamed Wales 120000 years ago. Five more years of digs are planned, starting again soon. A cave with Palaeolithic remains beneath medieval Pembroke Castle. Under the northern part of the castle - a vast cave accessed from above down a spiral staircase.

  The Calderstones: Mysterious hidden message inscribed on Liverpool roundabout reveals previous location of the Calderstones, more in the comments on our page. These stones once formed part of a chambered tomb in what is now the area of Allerton, six kilometres to the south-east of Liverpool. They lay on an elevated plateau of sandstone, on light, well-drained soils at the head of a small valley, but all that remains of this tomb today are six highly ornamented stones known as The Calderstones.

  Cahergal: A large stone cashel (ring fort) on the Ring of Kerry near Cahersiveen, Co. Kerry. Dated to 600 CE and over 25m (80 feet) in diameter, it is one of the best-preserved stone forts in Ireland and one of two neighbouring - the other being Leacanabuaile. Most of its reconstructed walls are between six and 13 feet high and over 15 feet thick. 📷 Anne T More:
