Killamery High Cross: Standing in the graveyard at the monastic site of Killamery some 10 miles N of Kilkenny. A monastery was established here in 632 CE by St Goban, a disciple of St Fursey. The high cross is 3.06 metres (10ft) tall and dates from the 9th century CE. It is richly sculptured on the shaft of the E face with what are thought to be three marigold flowers.
