  Had to use the bike rack on the back of the car as a stand, but I managed to rotate the front and rear tires, clean my brake discs, clean the gear set, and clean and oil the chain. All the squeaks and roughness from yesterday's ride are magically gone! I didn't realize how much of that was coming from a dirty chain and dirty brakes. #cycling

  The LTT screwdriver has 4mm hex bits. Man this is gonna simplify #bike maintenance at home. No more messing around with Allen keys, quick swaps with the pannier rack.

  One weird quirk with the @frameworkcomputer 13 (12th gen Intel) is that when I'm hooked up to a USB-C hub with PD and the power goes out, the hub will switch from supplying the computer with power to *drawing* power from the computer. And then the computer *freaks out* and crashes on a hardware level so completely that I need to open it and disconnect the battery. I mean, on one hand at least I *can* open it and disconnect the battery but what a pain.

  Going on vacation next week with lots of time in the car and very little room for exercise, so I'm planning to make the most of this weekend. This *might* be a little too much, though. It's a total of 1,500 feet of climbing, but 600 feet of that comes in one climb that's 1.5 miles long. #cycling #NewJersey

  God I hate modern #UI design #GNOME people probably don't want to hear this but using super+drag to fix the problem isn't a great solution either. It has accessibility implications for one-handed users.

  So one thing about the US is that when anybody proposed socializing retirement and health care we get ghouls coming out of the woodwork to ask in bad faith how we'd pay for something so extravagant (that everybody else already has). In the US, if you have benefits you get a sort of shared-cost system where some money goes to socialized benefits and some to private. Going full social just means you and your employer pay into the social pool instead of the private pool and then EVERYBODY...

  I went to take a look at a writing idea that I hadn't looked at in a long time and it turns out that's one of the ones I lost when my laptop's SSD died. You know what? I'm actually kind of glad. I was thinking of taking the premise and going in a different direction from what I lost. Now I don't have to worry about what I'll be deleting.

  I keep going back and forth about whether I prefer Rage with the original textures or with the "detail texture" feature. It certainly looks sharper but there's always a little voice in the back of my head reminding me that it's not "real" detail. It's just a combination of upscale, sharpening and noise. Megatextures had too many problems to stick around, I know, but those are some hella good NPC textures for 2011.

  On vacation in Philadelphia and it really proves the @notjustbikes adage that cities aren't loud, cars are loud. But honestly it's not the volume of cars. Even with hundreds of cars slowly crawling through congested streets it's not that loud. It's that here in the US at least there's always at least one huge truck with an oversized engine, a civic with a racing muffler, a muscle car gunning it from light to light, and a dip shit with his windows down and...
