reCAPTCHA has always, always been sketchy (and it seems to think scooters are motorcycles, which annoys the pedant in me). It sometimes *works* after 6 or 8 tries although I suspect it just gives up on the user at some point. But, uh... uh... QR code and a mobile app? What the *WHAT* just happened and why is this legal?

Pulled the SID out of my &quot;to-eventually-fix&quot; #C64 and stuck it in my #C64Ultimate so I can use real hardware instead of Gideon&#39;s built-in emulation on the FPGA. Oh, man, that&#39;s so delicious. The whole rig is now on par with my &quot;to-eventually-fix&quot; 64+1541U-ii setup and slightly easier to use, too. Now to play those pack-in @lukhash tunes for real!

Few things go well the first time you try them. It&#39;s a part of the iterative learning process: when you don&#39;t know what the fuck is going on under the hood you have to investigate. Scratch your head. Be confused. Or you could install an UthernetII in your #AppleII and it works the first time without thinking about it. For once, the latter happened.

I am strongly considering taking up cross-stitching for the express purpose of expressing profanity. Today is not the day, I have other higher priority shit directly in my face to deal with. But I think I want that day to come soon. At least I have a little practice sampler kit to learn the basics from.

It&#39;s hard for any especially thoughtful person to say they had a *good* May Day, but I did sit in contemplation of both children being working members of a labor union. That felt nice, like I&#39;d finally contributed something to society in a secondhand way.
