  I’ve got myself with too much #Tech content in my feed. At the same time, many of the non-tech people I follow have left the fediverse …. And when I post or see non-tech content, it gets a lot less engagement so it feels like a dead end to engage myself Which continues the cycle and less and less non-tech content is present. *sigh*

  I’m unpacking the WHY I have such resistance to using timers and schedules to manage my ADHD outside of work. It’s part ego, part internalized ableism and part anxiety triggering In short: a part of me feels I have less value for needing to use a tool at all, and the tool itself makes me feel anxious that I’ll still mess up so I self sabotage and resist or don’t even try and then “fail” again gah!😖 Does this resonate with others?   Another change in my thinking that’s been helpful for me : If I am doing something that doesn’t go as expected, my automatic reaction is to call myself “stupid” When this happens now - and I catch it - I change it to “silly” to extend myself compassion. Silly is no big deal after all! 😊😉 Making this change has meant “stupid” is showing up less and less and silly more and more. I feel better in those moments than I used to feel 🥰 #mentalhealth #SelfCompassion #exercise

  It’s so weird seeing American folks worried about the drop in Canadian tourism and saying it’s due to Canadians having “hard feelings” and wondering why we can’t just put them aside. It’s gaslighting and yet another reason not to go. Yeesh. 🙄

  Today I dealt with a student using “gay” as an insult. To be fair to the kid, I see grown adult men using gay as an insult right here on the fediverse. (Especially when attempting to insult male politicians that they don’t like.) Men on here are too often homophobic and I’m tired of it. It’s not an insult to be queer and if you use gay/queer as a joke/insult then you are part of the problem and not here for equality. Your words have impact. Do better. #Fediverse #homophobia #lgbtq
