@lifewithtrees it's tough - feels like an information vacuum or perhaps more like a fear of missing out on information, at least for me. Even if I do get more informed, I also leave feeling bitter and negative. Even if justified. Only get so many days to live. Trying to stay on target, keep slipping.

@lifewithtrees logging out of Reddit for good was one of the best decisions of my life. And I’m not even exaggerating, it was life changing. Congrats! Keep going! Mastodon is also distracting, but it’s not engineered to be distracting. I find it much easier to naturally stop and the participation feels normal and able to be integrated with normal life like a normal tool or social interaction. Very different. Goes to show just how insidious of an attention sucking machine Reddit had become.
