Oh no. Beyerdynamic was sold to some Chinese OEM last June. (https://www.slashgear.com/1900632/beyerdynamic-cosonic-chinese-owner/) Luckily there's new companies like Austrian Audio and Meze (Though the former is now owned by private equity), and Sony does still make nice headphones, but as someone who was quite fond of Beyerdynamic this is pretty disappointing. Also weird that I find out about it now, guess I was distracted with by thesis deadline being a few days after the sale.

It looks like partidonacional.hn, the domain of Honduras' governing party, perished in April 2023 due to really bad domain managed (it expired and was swooped up by some guy from Bulgaria). This is a really stupid thing, but the linked email addresses were just party staff's personal Hotmail and iCloud addresses. I'm assuming renewal reminders were just missed, or the responsible staff member's iCloud got hijacked.

The Dutch central bank is switching to buying their cloud services from Lidl, which surprisingly enough is a normal thing

SK Hynix is dividing 10% of their profits over employees. Other companies, no matter what you do, take note.

Looks like Magyar will be Hungary's new PM :) Orbán just accepted defeat. I was worried he'd try to commit a coup but no. Now Hungary will have to deal with the remains of 16 years of his bullshit.

Texel is so Taiwan-shaped that China probably wouldn't notice if we switched them. China can have Texel imo and this would solve a lot of problems.

So the Trump phone is apparently a reskinned HTC U24 Pro (from 2024), which was manufactured by Lenovo in China. I'm assuming it'll be subject to import tariffs.

LÜCY's Dance on the Shoreline (https://streetvoice.com/lucymeow/songs/album/97322370/) is one of those albums I randomly grew to love. The music on it is so chill

I thought me being Dutch would reduce my chances of being accepted into the European Commission's traineeships (with Amsterdam-Brussels being a 2-hour direct train ride I assumed many Dutch people would apply). I've been told the EC has a serious Dutch people shortage. Like how??? Only Belgians have an easier time commuting if they're unable to move…
