No Pearl walk this morning. We had gone about 400 metres when we heard a large dog barking. We know the dog - it barks at all other dogs, its owner struggles to hold it but always crosses the road away from other dogs. But Pearl said nope, time to go home. And I agreed. We&#39;ll go out after lunch along the ridge where there won&#39;t be too many other walkers and it will be lovely and sunny.

I may have just arrived home after a busy morning and put on my pyjamas, turned on the heating and declared today over. (And it looks like it&#39;s snowing on the Brindies). #CanberraWinter

Appointment reminder text messages and phone calls are driving me crazy. 3 text messages - &#39;reply Y if you are coming&#39; so you reply and it doesn&#39;t effin work so you then get 3 phone calls and counting - from one practice for one appointment. Compound that by every other appointment I might have. Stop. Nagging. If I can&#39;t come, I&#39;ll let you know.

Just finished rereading Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. It&#39;s a while since I&#39;d read it and I actually gasped out loud at the end of Part 1. I didn&#39;t expect that.

Yesterday we had a quilt walk through Canberra City, from Greta Place to CMAG, to celebrate Canberra Quilters 50th birthday. I took along my gemstone quilt. #quilting

I oiled half the deck today. Only half, because I&#39;ll need to do the furniture shuffle. I didn&#39;t mean to, but I&#39;m so damn sick of the outdoor cushions being in the spare room because the deck was so grotty. I decided to get the pressure hose out and spray it down, but then realised that it was clean so I could oil it which it desperately needed. Of course, I only had a big paintbrush, but it&#39;s done a good job. Tomorrow&#39;s activities sorted!

Wonderful cool cloudy day here today. But too cool to finish oiling the other half of the deck. It&#39;s not actually raining but it feels really damp and mizzly. That&#39;s my excuse and I&#39;m sticking to it!! #canberraweather

And...the deck won&#39;t get finished today either. I finished cleaning it off yesterday and it did dry but it was too cold to oil. And now it&#39;s showering, which is lovely and I&#39;m happy to sit inside and drink tea, but that doesn&#39;t finish oiling the deck. We had a lovely dog walk this morning along the ridge which has been mown, so no prickles or sticky seeds for hairy dogs. The cats are locked in the bedroom end of the house because they were both being absolute dic...

I can&#39;t believe I agree with Andrew Hastie about Trump being petulant. 🤢 I propose a new game: every politician everywhere can only speak the truth about how they feel about the orange buffoon. The world would, I&#39;m sure, be a better place.

I think I said before that I&#39;ve signed up to do the PatternPoole mystery quilt. Prelim cutting instructions were sent out - and I have finished cutting. Batting was a leftover bundle I found in the cupboard. Backing is lots of FQs and leftovers as it&#39;s QAYG. And fabric is batik rather than grunge. #quilting

Binding and one highlight line to go. #quilting Based on an Internet poster by Molly White. Permission given. Plain white books have &#39;banned&#39; written on them. Names of some banned books and authors in black borders. &#39;Adelaide&#39; and &#39;Bendigo&#39; either side of banner for the canned writers&#39; festivals. Red dress is homage to the little girl in the red coat in &#39;Schindler&#39;s List&#39; and Atwood&#39;s Handmaids.
