  I'm having a strong Knuth moment, in which I want to get shit done, but before I can get shit done, I first have to make the tools to get shit done. Why Knuth? Because it's about documentation. It always is about documentation. I don't know why all the documentation related tooling we have is kind of shitty. I suspect it is because too many developers treat knowledge transfer as a *secondary* objective. /me grumbles in old man

  The other day, I was reflecting how Rowlings' TERFiness blends neatly with her support of fascist politics. The reason I was reflecting on that is that there is a whole generation of people who grew up with the HP franchise, and have consequently opted to get tattoos with the Deathly Hallows symbol. I realize that having such a tattoo in no way implies supporting Rowlings' shitty politics. Nonetheless, seeing that symbol, especially as a tattoo, now gives me very icky vibes. So... too...

  Been playing a lot more with OpenBSD recently, and it feels a lot more "right" than FreeBSD. Simpler, more grokkable. Fewer surprises. I don't think it's perfect, mind you. But definitely nice.   For a little side-project, I have wrangled pandoc into HTML-formatting a series of linked articles. It is half a step away from being able to generate an entire book out of those, and a small step away from being a decent static site generator for a series of articles ordered and linked by *date*, aka a blog.   A lot of Germans are posting in German about #Giessen today, and since many of our friends overseas may be confused, here's a summary: The current iteration of the Nazi-Party, the AfD, is holding a summit in the town of Giessen today. They announced the formation of a youth org (Hitler-Jugend?). A ton of people came to protest.
