Been playing a lot more with OpenBSD recently, and it feels a lot more "right" than FreeBSD. Simpler, more grokkable. Fewer surprises. I don't think it's perfect, mind you. But definitely nice. Pretty sure that I will transition to it in time. Server-side it feels like a no-brainer. Home machine? Hmm. With a Linux VM, probably. The only thing I was running into was trying to resize a partition on a full disk encrypted softraid device. Of course the device needs to be resized, too, but I...

    ... could not figure that out from the docs. Not important, rebuilding the VM was not hard. Anyway. A bunch more basic system setup to go through, then I'll be ready to try hardware.

    @jens@social.finkhaeuser.de The one thing that keeps me from even trying OpenBSD is their refusal to allow IPv4 on IPv6 sockets (V6ONLY=0). But maybe that doesn't matter any more when used in v6only networks where something outside provides NAT64.
