These 3 items represent that entirety of a $100 USD gift card lmao. Okay, to be fair I also paid the $20 shipping with the gift card, but still. Guitar repair is not a cheap activity. I decided in the end to get a single 2ft length of fretwire instead of 4ft, because my plan is to just do the problem areas rather than a full refret (for reference, 4ft is just enough to do an entire guitar), and that allowed me to get the set of 6 grits of this 3M flexible polishing cloth, rather than just the c...

I am not built for living with the kind of people who feel the need to speak to me at 7:00am.

I cannot express how much I truly loathe this breathing placeholder shit (especially when it never gets replaced with content, like right now). Just serve me a fucking completed document so I can get on with my day.

I really don't like "SEO experts" who claim to be experts, but apparently can't handle building a form with the existing set of tools (a bloody WYSIWYG page builder, come on). If you install WPForms or Contact Form 7 on a WordPress install I maintain which already possesses form functionality (as evidenced by the contact form on the homepage), I promise you I will uninstall it. UGH. (for the record, I didn't hire this person and have had zero contact w...

It just dawned on me, as it does every so often when I remember that it exists, that I've had the same scab on my knee for at least 3 years. I got it when the motors of the Onewheel I was riding, evidently at top speed, abruptly cut out and the Onewheel stopped, and I kept going... then slid several feet... on gravel. I can't say the experience made me want a Onewheel any less (thankfully not a purchase I can justify, unless old used XRs are cheap now). It did however convince m...

I'm the kind of psycho that always considers the worst case scenario, and I probably shouldn't have kids because I would be an absolute basketcase. So anyway, parents, consider this a PSA: I just had a fear confirmed by something a pediatrician on the internet said when asked for one thing they would do different knowing what they know now (I'm paraphrasing a video I've never seen but which was paraphrased to me lol). They said they would never let their child us...

This is amazing. I didn't realize dunking on audiophiles was already a thing in the 50s 😅https://youtu.be/Us6hQLwG1S8?si=8CDCN3YDm5sGSGnZ

My s/o's employer uses Google Workspace for everything. She's currently working on a Doc, and it just told her she maxed out the character limit, and that she would need to "remove content." It's less than 200 pages. Did Google forget to turn off an April Fools joke or something?

Here's an idea, instead of going back to gopher, or starting a new non-commercial protocol, or just ditching the internet altogether... we should just build a modern browser to pre-modern standards. Like HTML 4.01 transitional max, CSS 2.1, and maybe ECMAscript 3? HTTP only (gopher and gemini can come too). I haven't fully thought this out yet, obviously lol

Honestly.... obviously it doesn't look good, but some portion of that is this TVs built-in upscaler, and considering all I did is cut and strip the ends of a pair of RCA cables, then poked them into pins 4 and 9 of the A/V out (plus ground to the sleeve), that it's entirely serviceable is good enough for me (for the moment lol). Audio sounds stellar of course (and what fine audio it is. I like to imagine a timeline where RZA owned a Genesis and a copy of Shinobi 3 in '92...

No way. Extensions are no longer an afterthought in Firefox (Waterfox in this case but same difference) for Android!? This is a welcome development. I'll admit I'm more ambivalent about the new UI over all, but I suspect once my muscle memory catches up I'll feel better about it.

Wow. It's almost like supporting Linux was possible all along.
