  This is a bizarre position for #StrongTowns. The #InterstateHighwaySystem should never have been built in the first place. Instead of continuing to throw good money after bad, we should be dismantling most of it. It is nothing but a pork barrel boondoggle, a money sink that politicians use to game the system and reward the campaign donor class.   The reason why I hated the Paladin class in #DnD when I was younger, was not merely because I had a bad experience of religion or because of the historical abuses of the knights militant of the various church orders, but because I saw Paladins essentially as police—*as police have always been in my experience of police*, which is to say corrupt, cruel, and hypocritical. Lately, I have come to regard Paladins as they would ideally be, holy protectors of Justice and everything Good. #ttRPG

  I'm going to make Rigatoni with meatballs and jarred sauce, tonight. The frozen meatballs I bought last week are actually pretty good. Definitely not as good as homemade, but for someone like me, who is absolutely NOT willing to make homemade meatballs, they are acceptable. I picked up a chunk of Grana Padano at the market on the way home from my meeting at the library to kick off the ebike lending library season. I can't afford Parmigiano-Reggiano, anymore, sadly.

  LRT: As a member of my municipal #government, I wholeheartedly endorse this message. Municipal government is difficult and thankless work, made all the more difficult and thankless by people who demand their desires be fulfilled without regard to the impact the fulfillment of their desires would have on others in their community. Everyone has an opinion, but Governing is a profession, not a lark. Good governance requires intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, curiosity, patience, and compassion.

  Electric cars are not going to save us from the consequences of lives built around #driving. What fuels your car is a small part of the impact that cars and driving have on the #environment. While an electric car is marginally better at the point of use than a fossil fuel car, the fact remains that it's still a car. So long as you continue to use cars, you are not part of the solution. If you cannot imagine a life without a car, you are the problem. Electric cars are not #solarpunk.
