This is a bizarre position for #StrongTowns. The #InterstateHighwaySystem should never have been built in the first place. Instead of continuing to throw good money after bad, we should be dismantling most of it. It is nothing but a pork barrel boondoggle, a money sink that politicians use to game the system and reward the campaign donor class.
Over-reliance on motor vehicles is unmitigatably bad for humanity. There is no disputing this fact. #USpol #transportation

Every single limited access highway in an urban area should be torn down and replaced with urban fabric and revitalization of our crumbling rail system, which is the single most important improvement to our public #transportation policy we could possibly make. #urbanism Not #HighSpeedRail, just fix the existing conventional rail system, and put back into service #railroad rights-of-way that have been unwisely abandoned.
