🚨 NEW EPISODE🚨 It’s not even August yet, and it’s been a long, hot summer. As temperatures climb and France and Spain fight to keep wildfires contained, we’re devoting the whole of this week’s episode to one of 2026’s most contentious debates: should Europe be using more air conditioning? We talk to three experts about the guilt, the greenhouse gases, and the life-saving upsides of artificial cooling. Bring a fan. https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/the-great-european-air-condition...

🚨 NEW EPISODE We're deep into a hot hot summer and a lot of things are terrible, so forgive us for ignoring the news for one week and bringing you a celebration of Europe's best pop music instead. We had a ludicrous amount of fun making this episode. Here's to it becoming a new annual tradition! https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/summer-playlist-2026 #music #europe

RE: https://norden.social/@maximilian/116111389062298485 Here to fill the Big, Europe-Sized Hole in your news diets. Glad you found us, @maximilian! We'd love it if listeners could share The Europeans' existence with people they think might like the show -- you'd be amazed by how many people it's perfect for, who just have no idea we exist.

Let’s skip the hyperbole. No one can transform #Hungary overnight. Péter Magyar is a product of the Fidesz machine. But we are so, so happy for Hungarians tonight

We’re searching for the answer to a fascinating question: How many languages do you actually need to get by in Europe? This is a series exploring how well Europeans can understand each other across borders, without defaulting to English every five minutes. Today, we turn to the heartland of Europe: #Poland, #Czechia and #Slovakia #language #europe

We're investigating European-based Patreon alternatives. Does anyone have any experience with any of them? We're looking at Steady but it appears that they process their payments through Paypal which kinda defeats the point of trying to use a European platform... #madeinEurope

NEW EPISODE 🚨 Can 150 random Europeans actually solve the EU’s biggest problems? We sent Wojciech to Brussels to find out how these Citizens’ Panels work - and whether they’re worth the hype (and the cost). https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/can-a-group-of-strangers-solve-europes-biggest-problems

NEW EPISODE Europe’s been buzzing with elections lately - but this week, we’re focusing on arguably the most monumental election of 2026: On 12 April, Hungarians could choose to end Viktor Orbán’s 16-year reign. Is the EU's most illiberal leader on his way out? Listen here: https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/the-end-of-orban

Hungary’s crackdown on press freedom escalates: Szabolcs Panyi, one of the country’s most prominent investigative journalists and a former guest on our show, faces criminal espionage charges - a blatant attack by Orbán’s government. The International Press Institute condemned the move, warning that “charging journalists as spies is a tactic straight out of Hungary’s communist past.” We stand in full solidarity with Panyi and all independent journalists in Hungary. https://ipi.media/hungary-i...

Looks like Italy is saying a big "Assolutamente no!" to Giorgia Meloni's constitutional referendum. Yesterday we heard that our podcast host - Podbean - will no longer deliver dynamic ads to listeners in the EEA/EU/UK, effective immediately. This is the kick up the ass we needed to finally migrate our show to a European hosting provider. Does anyone have good experience with a European provider that offers dynamic ad insertion?

🚄✈️ Why is it still so hard to choose a train over a plane? On many long-distance routes in Europe, choosing the train can feel like a borderline heroic decision. It’s often more expensive, takes longer, and can be less reliable when connections are tight. This week we spoke to cross-border rail advocate @jon about what Europe would need to change to make rail the obvious choice, not a moral gesture. Here’s his recipe. 🚨 We have a new episode out today 🚨 What if our societies supported us to rest, to look after our families, and to enjoy ourselves and our communities as much as we’re encouraged to generate capital? In this week’s episode, we’re joined by writer and activist Emma Holten to explore feminist economics: a radical rethinking of how we measure value. https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/how-feminist-economics-could-change-europe
