I think that this type of citizen involvement is meaningful and should be continued. 150 people is not much compared to the overall population of the EU, but you've got to start somewhere. The insights on #covid were especially interesting.

@europeanspodcast@mastodon.social the language difficulties do make this a little different, and more challenging. But was surprised there was no reference to Ireland's Citizen Assemblies and the Sortition Foundation. This EU version seemed a bit small scale in comparison. This sort of direct participation does seem particularly good at setting policy direction where politicians fear to tread eg legalisation of abortion in Ireland.
