author, screenwriter, filmmaker, musician, artist, bookbinder, recovering dj, queer adjacent

If you're curious on how AI impacts my writing, it doesn't. I don't use AI for any portion of my writing and it annoys me that it's necessary to make a distinction that the identifier of author _should_ reasonably cover.

My latest horror short "NDA" started when I latched onto the idea of "a year long terror" and what that could actually mean. For all the scenarios that I shuffled through, the one that spoke to me the most was the things we suffer while under non-disclosure agreements and exploring how I could push that idea a little further. It's ~4,600 word in length and available for free under a pay-what-you-want model at ko-fi and itch.io. https://ko-fi.com/s/ba...

The worst part of working right downtown is trying to reorient yourself to work still to be done on a Friday afternoon after an ayce sushi lunch.

Well, so much for Project Zomboid. Build 42 randomly locks up my entire system. Not best.

I dropped my bike off for service last Saturday. I was told it would either be ready the next day or August 4th. I'm going into the long weekend without a bike and all I want to do is go out and explore.

Hey. Did you know that Tim Hortons has a zero tolerance policy on transphobia in the work place? Cause clearly they fucking didn't.

Dealing with a deep malaise recognizing that spending my days writing has been replaced with a full time job, no writing, and a crushing absence of attention or motivation to fix that problem.

I finally finished Celeste. I tend to hyper focus for short amounts of time and then forget about games for months/years at a time. Plus, my hands tend to fall asleep/start burning when playing precision platformers which leads to short play sessions.

Golf Club Nostalgia is a beautiful game.

I'm trying to find a cheap, old bike to be a project bike that I can strip down and rebuild from scratch. The amount of people asking $100 or more for 30 year old entry level department store mountain bikes that have been sitting in garages and sheds the majority of that time is baffling. The one guy had a rusted, non-functioning bike where the brake lines have been cut saying "Don't know much about it" but he was also certain it was worth $60 as is.

It's been at least a 9 or 10 months since I've play Project Zomboid, but build 42 looks really good. Like good enough to bring me back in for awhile.

New short horror story "NDA" available for free under a pay-what-you-want model at ko-fi and itch.io. Exhausted and overwhelmed by experiences surrounding his employer, Frank seeks out an independent investigative journalist to confide in. Frank is unsure, as the interview progresses, if his tired mind is failing him or if the interview is falling apart. ~4,600 words https://ko-fi.com/s/ba12c7ecde https://davidbragg.itch.io/nda #writing #author #horror #ShortStory #IndieAuthor #NoA...

I'm so fucking done with AI. If you're phone is stuck in a boot loop you may be having problems because the battery is low. Check the battery level from the device settings. Oh yeah. From the boot screen. That I never get past. Check the fucking device settings for the fucking boot screen?

After dropping off for nearly two weeks to grind prep for an interview, I'm back on my bullshit. Moving my writing status updates to Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/posts/2026-week-22-159337890

Between grades 4 and 11 I attended 8 different schools. 8 schools across 8 years. Grade 7 was split across 2 years while grades 9 and 10 were at the same school and just long enough for me to have a really good group of friends before we moved across the city again. By 22 I'd lived in 17 different places. The fact that I'm even marginally functional as a human being is a miracle.

While I'm sure I've seen it before, I really just registered it today. `solopreneurs` "I don't know how to code or market or do sales, or really anything, but I got money to light on fire for tokens so I'm'nna let LLMs do that shit for me and then pat myself on the back for how much of a fucking genius I am." I fucking hate all of this. This universe is stupid. I want to go back to my native Berenstein universe.

I've been invited out to a writers' open mic at The Albion in Guelph tonight. I don't think I'll get an opportunity to read. They have seven minute slots and my current piece, on a cold read, was ten and a half. Mostly looking to see what the #WritingCommunity in Guelph looks like. I could definitely use more peers.

I've got an old laptop I mostly use for writing. The battery has seen better days. Writing in vscodium on xfce, I get about two hours. Writing in neovim in a full screen terminal emulator under xfce, I get about three and a half. Writing in neovim in the terminal without X, just shy of six hours.

"Standard Ebooks is a volunteer-driven effort to produce a collection of high quality, carefully formatted, accessible, open source, and free public domain ebooks that meet or exceed the quality of commercially produced ebooks." Lovely site I've been getting books from for a couple years now. Currently reading their release of The King in Yellow. Maybe cram some Oscar Wilde into your eyes or something. https://standardebooks.org/about #ebook #reading #PublicDomain
