I'm trying to find a cheap, old bike to be a project bike that I can strip down and rebuild from scratch. The amount of people asking $100 or more for 30 year old entry level department store mountain bikes that have been sitting in garages and sheds the majority of that time is baffling. The one guy had a rusted, non-functioning bike where the brake lines have been cut saying "Don't know much about it" but he was also certain it was worth $60 as is.
