    Clams can integrate all sorts of toxins from the phytoplankton they eat. Some prominent marine ones include paralytic shellfish poisoning, amnesic shellfish poisoning, and diarrhetic shellfish poisoning. There are dozens of known toxins around the world.     For some reason I had never considered that peanuts are actually the product of a fruit that grows under the ground. It&#39;s called geocarpy. The flowers are pollinated and the pods drop down to the ground as &quot;pegs&quot;, growing into the soil. To me, this is absolutely crazy. Peanuts are crazy.

    Anyone got a high res version? This is Exhibit 1 from the Comey indictment. If the pic is from North Carolina coast, the 8 looks like mostly Dinocardium robusta, the giant Atlantic cockle. The 6 probably the same but stained by anoxic sediment. The 4+7 look like a mix of Crassostrea virginica (Eastern oyster) and Geukensia demissa (Eastern ribbed mussel).
