  We have an instance of NextCloud at dayjob. It has a barely working search. I thought, what if it works better on a Chromium browser? For this occasions, I have Vivaldi. I open it, and NextCloud works just as bad. Vivaldi has updated itself. It now looks like GoLand and the new GitLab. You know, the playful purple gradient on the semi-transparent background UI with monochrome icons in those dockers, contrasting purely by colour with the page content. Seems to be a trend now. I find myself quit...

  In university, we were given an assignment to calculate our personal inflation with 20 products we were buying for a year. Turns out: 1. I don't buy that much, and have been buying less lately somehow. 2. All those data-hungry corporations can't even reliably tell you what you bought a year ago, despite actually collecting and probably storing all that data. And how do I do my assignment? I don't keep receipts...

  Been to a symphonic orchestra concert today. First time ever I'm on an event like this! Was invited on a very short notice, had to hurry a lot. Wow this is cool! There were Debussy's nocturnes in 3 parts, and apparently the third part is usually not performed, because chori are hard to come by (but here in Tatarstan we have everything and everyone). Then Rachmaninoff's opus number one. I learned so many new concepts today and even heard new sounds.

  Some alphabets have cool names for every letter. The Glagolitic script did. Its first letters were Az (me) Buki (letters) Vedi (know) ... For conscripts and conlangs, this is such an underexplored area of expression. Just imagine we're worldbuilding, and we're using this thing to express the values and the lifestyle of a people in their alphabet. Why don't we do this anymore IRL?   Just today I was reading about the virtues of handcarts on Solar Website and how easy it is to carry cargo with them. Soon after me computer monitor broke. I think it's a warranty case, and despite my cold, I'll go to the shop and demand something. I'd prefer money instead of repairing tbh; I would buy a better monitor. Anyway, the shop is within walking distance, but carrying a heavy box with no handles isn't gonna be fun. I wish I had a handcart...

  When I was in middle/high school, I was pretty fascinated with writing systems, more so than with languages they served. I designed quite a few writing systems myself! At least four? Probably more. I targeted the phonetics of Esperanto and Russian, and transliterated English with arbitrary rules. I also had a universal hieroglyphics system, which was reused across the scripts.
