  LLMs can't reason about socio-economic issues, and arguably they are not trained to, other than to generate in line with alignment training. The definition of "Open" used by a hyperscaler may be very different from the use of that word by a small company. People should be concerned about two large technology companies controlling tools & platforms for certain telecommunications aspects between them now.   Once again, "AI" does not add value for me professionally, nor can it "replace" me. I hereby submit evidence to support my position. I went through my notes as I'm going to lab some telecoms stuff up in future with a friend's help. Early March. I neglected to track the specific model emitting erroneous output. This is NOT an uncommon occurence!

  I swear to god I am never buying a Logitech keyboard ever again in my life. Yeah I got suckered by the MK270 combo.   WOOHOO! My BeagleBone Black is able to hardware timestamp packets again! Something changed in the latest Debian 13 drop for it, though it's limited to transmit for all or receive for IEEE 1588, though, nothing inbetween.   Sometimes luck is just... information you didn't have (or were unable to acknowledge) at some point in time finally reaching you. I made a mistake trying to take an old acquaintance into my confidence. In the process that person revealed their true colours to me. At the time of my life's business with this person (not a romantic partner, so not that far in) I was engaging in suspension of disbelief because of situation.   Did some flash experiments for building secure cryptographic trust roots independently of large technology companies; i.e. for DNSSEC/DANE and/or SSH CA applications. COTS HSMs do not support modern public-key algorithms, e.g. Ed25519, without a great deal of expense. OpenDNSSEC uses SoftHSMv2 via the PKCS#11 standard. I propose to use COTS retail components to build keystores for it.

  TIL: PCIe 1x lane graphics cards do exist. Usually AST2400 based, and QEMU itself provides a system emulation of the SoCs used to build the cards themselves. They appear to be usually employed in lights-out BMC management cards for servers, but for home builders where this is ever more important for where cloud just isn't appropriate, knowing about this helps free up your 16x/8x/4x slots for local storage and networking cards. Going rate is ~25GBP, comparable to 16x aftermarket graphics card...
