  Auf der #gpn24 könnt ihr euch als Stammzellspender*innen registrieren, und so potentiell Menschen mit Blutkrebs das Leben retten! Ich betreue heute den Stand heute bis 13 Uhr mit.   I learned the basics of how to fly a (simulated) Airbus A320 this week! Going from being completely overwhelmed to knowing what some of these buttons do, was a very satisfying experience. Taking off is easier than landing, though! 😅 #flightgear

  Today, I'm doing another attempt at hiking 100 km around Hamburg in 24 hours! Last year, I had to abort after 30 km, due to unexpected blisters on my feet. 😖 But this time, I've brought double-layered socks, blister bandaids, new (but already worn-in) shoes, and a determination to not walk too fast early on! :) Let's see how this goes. But first, I'm taking a ferry to the starting point! ⛴️

  I'm working on a little Rust tool this week that takes the URL to a Mastodon thread, and converts it to a Markdown blog post. It also downloads all included media files automatically, including alt text. Now my question is: What should this tool be called?   Say hello to `threadcat`! 🧶🐱 It's a little Rust tool which takes the URL to a Mastodon thread, and converts it to a Markdown file. It also downloads all attached media files (and their alt texts)!   I'd like to design my first free-form stickers (for @teamtype) – has someone ever managed to produce proper print files for that using open-source software like Inkscape or Scribus? Specifically, it seems the print shops want a "100% purple" outline in a "named spot color" on its own "PDF layer". (I'm not really interested in how you would do this in proprietary software.)

  I was wondering what would happen if you played Newton Wars (aka Gravitational Combat), but had a full visualization showing you which target/planet you would hit when shooting in that direction with that force! So I wrote a #glsl shader to figure that out, and it's really pretty! :rainbow_heart_eyes: This is how it works: If you hover over a red pixel in the diagram, you can be sure you'll hit the red planet! The lightness is how soon you'll hit it.

  Here's a thread of cool things I found exploring the #Firefox Developer Tools! First, a really convenient thing: You can "pop out" the Toolbox into a separate window! To do this, open the Toolbox (using F12), click on the ellipsis menu on the right, and select "Separate Window". I like this much better than the default "docked" modes, especially when using a scrolling window manager like #niri! #webdev #devtools
