  Going to test drive a Rivian R1S tomorrow. More interested in an R2, potentially, but never been in one, so thought I'd take a look. Any advice to things I should pay attention to from people who have one (or avoided one for reasons)?

  Netflix convinced me to try the Roast of Kevin Hart, and I just can’t. Made it about 15 minutes, and that’s with skipping Tom Brady. Being mean just isn’t funny, even if everyone is playing along. None of it felt even vaguely clever.

  NOTICE: Shortcuts broke its x-callback-url implementation. Seems to be part of the security fix for CVE-2026-28993 included in iOS 26.5/18.7.9, macOS 26.5/15.7.7/14.8.7. On these OSes, it’s no longer possible to get a result from a Shortcut call via `x-success` callback, you will *always* get an x-error. In theory, per the CVE, Shortcuts should offer a permissions prompt, not just fail. Apple Folks: FB22785648

  It’s been 20 years since I quit my last “job” At the time the goal was consulting, then the App Store came along. Took until ~2019 until it was all App Store, and no consulting. I don’t know if any of this would have worked if I didn’t have such good timing, but happy it did.

  For interested folks, this chart shows active subscriber trend since Drafts Pro was offered as part of the Drafts 5 release in 2018. It's been a slow decline since its peak in 2022. Having a bit of an uptick this year, and hoping to figure out how to leverage that…but also pretty comfortable with the idea that Drafts has found its niche and is not likely to ever be more mainstream. I'd rather serve that core audience better than make changes to gain broader appeal.

  What’s your Action Button do? I had not really used it much until recently, but moved a bunch things I had been using Control Center for to a shortcut attached to it and I’m finding it faster.

  Which will happen first… 1. Google will update Google Voice automatic transcription to use a dictation model newer than, say, 2005. 2. Google will shut down Google Voice.

  Since updating to watchOS 26, about every third time I go to start a workout, I find later it didn't start. The way the button animation swiping between workout types works creates an unnecessary delay activating the start button. Never had this problem before 26. Is this just me?

  RE: https://mastodon.social/@lapcatsoftware/116417392268951070 Apple already provides a Setting (Apps > App Store > In-App Ratings & Reviews), that no one knows about, to globally disable review prompts…they just need to put a “Don’t Ask For Reviews” button in the review prompts so users can disable them. But, additionally, rating inertia is a bit problem with the star system. Too many apps that earned a good rating 10 years ago are still top of a category even though they been sold...

  Anyone make sense of why App Store Connect has one of these weird blips every once in a while where they say a massive number of your apps were downloaded? Usually a round number of tens of thousands credited to an institutional buyer. In this case, it's pretty clear no one downloaded 100k copies of the Drafts Mac app yesterday.
