Been working at locations on Detroit's East side this week. Last week when these were assigned I was a little put off by the driving distance from the house. Today I'm glad for it. This week was a bit of a clusterfuck. I still got paid to work, so that&#39;s a good thing, but a clusterfuck nonetheless. Customer wanted fiber run from one building to an outbuilding. The wife&#39;s work was throwing out a defective bluetooth barcode scanner. It wouldn&#39;t charge. (USB-C). She brought it home (with permission) to see if maybe I wanted to try to fix it. After cleaning the dust and lint out of the USB connector and replacing the battery, it works again. I think I&#39;ll be adding it to my toolbox for when I&#39;m working on things that need to be inventoried.

In other news, the IC706 I had in the work truck is in drastic need of a tune-up/full alignment/etc.... Low power output on 40m, SWR pegs to infinity, even though the antenna system shows a decent SWR on the same band. Extremely low power output on 20m and 10m, but SWR reads correct. Anyone know of a good, reputable, fair repair shop that can do the alignment and repair what&#39;s broken? I fabricated a copper bracket to mount 40m and 20m hamsticks and a Wilson 5000 (tuned for 10m) so I don&#39;t have to play the quick disconnect game when I want to switch bands.
