I finished The Regicide Report last night and, with it, The Laundry Files. I’m sure we’ll hear from Bob and Mo again at some point, but until then they can have a well deserved rest. It was a wild ride, thanks @cstross, you did good.

At the risk of being tragically hip: if you're gonna watch a great Sam Neil movie in memoriam, make it Until The End Of The World. But do it justice, get the Director's Cut, lots of drinks and snacks, and set an afternoon aside for it. UK folk, as we find ourselves in 30+C temperatures again, this is a reminder to check your medicines for appropriate storage temperatures. You’ll find that many of them shouldn’t be stored above 25C, so get them in the fridge 👍❄️💊

Testing my pi-hole, I just turned off adblocking and loaded some gaming sites (RPS, eurogamer)..... How do people without adblocking use the Internet? It's just...horrific...it's like when Nada puts the special shades on in They Live. I'm not joking...it really is that bad 😱

Oh FFS Starmer, nationalise British Steel, seriously? It’s an industry that’s absolutely dead on its arse. Its employees need to be retrained and moved to other industries, just like the long and painful transition the miners had to go through. You might as well throw cash into the fire for all the effect it will have on reviving the industry. And I’d put money on this “nationalised” company being almost entirely run by commercial subcontractors, all taking their slice. Bloody ridiculous😒

I want a device, but I don&#39;t know if it exists or not. It needs all the functionality of a rack PDU: per outlet switching/metering, delayed per port startups at boot, remote management via SNMP/SSH/Web. But rather than mains outlets it&#39;s USB, and it needs to have a selection of USB-A, and USB-C outlets that do proper PD 3.0 negotiation. It continues to annoy me that, while I have Dolby Atmos and AirPlay capable speakers, and Dolby Atmos music in Apple Music, I cannot play said tunes on said speakers. Because Apple only allow that via an Apple TV, which I do not want. It doesn’t even work on my Nvidia Shield, which is also Dolby Atmos capable, connected to said speakers, and has the Apple Music app on it 🤨
