  It drives me absolutely bonkers iDevices don’t natively support ANT. For the uninitiated, it’s a Bluetooth low energy radio protocol used in a TON of devices- everything from CGM sensors, bike cadence sensors, blood pressure cuffs, scales, and a slew of other devices that shouldn’t need a full fucking app just to “work”. From a privacy standpoint it would be a huge win, as this data could pipe directly into something like Apple Health without the need for yet another app, account, and shit-fil...

  Donald Trump, in the 1980s, was visiting a 7-Eleven in NYC. As he was checking out, he saw the “leave a penny/take a penny” tray, but it was empty and he was always a few cents short. He became enraged, then inspired. He spent the next 4 decades swindling and cheating his way to the top so he could take ALL the pennies. Or that’s at least the story I’ll tell my child when she gets older.

  @georgetakei@universeodon.com once again they wanna influence your child’s future to put up with their shit. I have absolutely nothing against plumbers or anyone else who can do stuff outside of the scope of my capabilities or desires, but it should be your child’s choice to pursue, not the whims of someone who’s contribution to humanity has been marrying a man that spent decades treating grown men like human cattle for “entertainment”.

  Putting bags over flock cameras that track other things like WiFi/bluetooth/etc. does not magically make them stop tracking those things. You can get a reciprocating saw with battery from Home Depot for $199 right now. The batteries and solar panels on these poles are usable in other things… Just saying.

  There’s a small part of me that wants to buy and renovate a building in our downtown area, something like 50-75 seats total, and build it out as a movie theatre that shows only off-copyright films and charges a dollar to get in for kids and seniors, two bucks to adults. That’s it. No Dolby mega deafening with motion sickness inducing screens. Just cheap entertainment. I don’t want to get rich from it, I just wanna give everyone some safe affordable fun.
