They remade The Thomas Crown Affair... a second time.

Right, looks like all the mesh stuff is in python which is a bit of a pain. OTOH if I'm brushing up on my C... maybe I should give python a whirl as well? I'm thinking various shims to make a mesh "BBS" pull from ProBoard's usual files... pretty sure the file formats are all documented so shouldn't be THAT hard... right? How it'd go about doing filereq stuff remains a mystery.

"You're a horrible person"... *looks around* Bitch I'm not even the hero of my OWN story let alone yours.

In some respects not wanting to deal with NTVDM64 is rather a rod for my own back...

One nod I will give Microsoft is that Windows 10 looks a lot better at 1280x1024 on my 4:3 monitor than it ever did at 4K with its scaling thing turned on.

One thing that pissed me off, when I'm surfing the news on the pocket sized internet, is websites saying "Apples 3 part series" or "Amazons 8 part series". They aren't "parts" a "part" is an individual episode not a complete season.

Set an upper file size limit (for sanity), zip the absolute tits out of the file, uuencode it, chunk the output in to 200b chunks, fire chunks at node. Node deals with getting the text to a file, decoding, etc. A "not my problem" solution. Set an upper file limit at 1.44MB give or take, that'd be about 4min at 38k4 although about 8 hours at 300baud which is a potential worst case. And the files will be substantially smaller than that

I keep seeing something called "Dog Stars" and my brain instantly goes "they did a remake of Children of the Dog Star"? I'm in. Then the trailer plays and its some shitty thing utterly unrelated.

Hey, remember that claymation devil that scared the shit out of you in the 80's and you can never remember the name of the show/movie? It's "The Adventures of Mark Twain" here it is on YouTube, with a 4K remaster, for free. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKU5cxq7xUs&t=2s Go scare the shit out of your inner child, you know the little git deserves it. :D

The room I'm in is a heat trap, which is why despite it being 16c elsewhere it's 28c in here. I'm wondering if an inline extractor fan would help... I just need to dump the hot air outside... so bolt it to the failed portable aircon's existing pipe and let it run? Might be worth a punt on a £30 device before spanking £500+ on a split A/C unit and installation.

Looks like Bash Back, a UK based Trans rights protest group is about to be declared a terrorist organisation in the same way Palestine Action was.

Keeping this separate in case someone wants to retoot my shit without my castles in the sky floating past... There are some REALLY good reasons I'm working on this BBS and those are the same reasons I'm throwing as much odd bod connectivity at it as possible. The powers that be have already come for the kids, now they're working on the adults. And I'm glad I'm not one of the good ones.

@sidalsolgun@infosec.exchange @catsalad Kinda. It's because we appear, to them, to be oversized cats that are a bit dim and very crap at hunting for food. They're trying to teach you how to hunt for prey the same way their mother did (or they did for kittens). We humanise them... they catify us.

Finished Disclosure Day. That was some Fire in the Sky meets E.T. type bullshit.

Everytime a Giant Robot video passes my youtuvbe feed about "rare" or "lost" media... I've got it on my media server and had it there for years. Today it was Buck Rogers from the 70's. Do I need to upgrade to some sort of RAID setup or something?

Autistic tip I learned the hard way: Everyday, wear visibly different clothes to what you wore yesterday. Because no amount of explaining to a neurotypical that yes, you shower everyday, and yes you wear clean clothes everyday it's just all your comfy shit tends to look the same even if it doesn't feel the same will suffice. They'll go to HR and suddenly you haven't showered for weeks and are stinking out the office... no, coming in with still damp hair won&a...

Either the Pocket386 & 86Box are 'slow' or my first PC was an absolute rocket. I swear that Win95 was faster on my childhood 386sx33 with 4 whole MB of RAM than it is these 386sx40's with double the ram and hitting CF cards & nvme speed storage.

Pragmata... looks like a nice game, but it's just so damn crash happy on Proton. Refund o' clock it is.

Coming up to a year with the fuzzball roaring around... 6 years old and showing no signs of growing up lol.

Well refund happened, picked up Atomic Heart as it was on sale. I have a sneaky suspicion it'll throw the same hissy fit (at some point) because it's using the same 3rd party DRM.

Yeah, I think BlueSky has hit that point. Today we had a Labour MP send out a press release that to all intents and purposes looked like a Green party presser. Apparently calling for that MP to be sanction to the fullest extent of the law is calling for "violence against women". The UK really is as cooked as the yanks and frankly I can not deal with stupidity of that scale any more.

Got some lovely claw marks *sigh* apparently Fluffy was sleeping on me and as I started to wake up and move... she woke up and jumped. Not upset and it took me a long ass time to notice them, it's the first time she's gone full cuddle puddle but did warn the other half about mysterious weights when you're waking up lol.
