  cool that nintendo ported the switch 2's eshop to the switch 1 and now it runs better (at the cost of fps, but on there i'd prefer performance over fps, so fair enough) but... did they really have to get rid of the loading jingle?? :neocat_pleading: cant believe they would remove the small remaints of life and fun the switch's OS had with whats likely the last system update that adds or changes anything :neocat_drowsy:

  (boosts appreciated) helo creatures of fedi, i got a small question about self-hosting i want to self-host a small minecraft server with minigames made by me on my old laptop, so that i can play with some friends. it works, but the way i join it right now is typing the local ip address (the server and the pc are on the same wifi). public ip doesnt work, and after some reading online it seems that i need to open a port in the router. i have not tried this yet, but i assume that should be enough...

  today i got a crazy idea my old laptop has somewhat decent specs, so i repurposed it as a backup server. it has a slot for a potential DVD drive, which is taken up by a fake plastic thing that it came with to not leave the hole empty my dad's old laptop is too slow and to be repurposed. maybe for some basic tasks if i put linux on it, but even my old laptop is way more powerful, so there's no point. but it has a DVD drive so i thought... what if i move the DVD drive from my dad's...

  since the head of the charger i use for charging the tablet does a whirring noise when the tablet is fully charged and no other charger i have does that, i decided to smell it to see if it smells weird (like burnt or something) to know if it's a problem and i should replace it or not it smells like fresh paint :blobcatgoogly: i dont know if this is bad or just silly
