Going to use the hour long drive down to my mom’s house to psyche myself out for the never ending list of insults neatly wrapped within a pseudo compliment.

The new school year begins in a little more than 3 weeks and I need your help making my classroom a safe and welcoming space for my HS special education students. We are in desperate need of supplies and snacks. As always, thank you for your support! The stress of going through the college process with my kid is really insane. They make it nearly impossible to apply “early decision” to a college because of it’s binding rules… which means that you have to take the chance that you’ll pay for the entire cost. (Some close to 100k a year!) You can legally back out of the contract for monetary issues, but that gets the student and their high school blackballed. I don’t know how anyone in the USA can afford a higher education. My kid did ever...

I call bullshit on this self-tanner that claims it dries in 60 seconds. I’ve been flapping my arms and walking like a starfish for an hour.

Proof of life pic: Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. I finally have electric back. Losing power for so many days was the straw. When I’m overwhelmed or can’t deal with life, I get quiet. But, I’ll be back soon. 💜

Storm hit out of nowhere. 80 mile an hour winds & we didn’t get a National Weather announcement until it was already happening. 8:30pm and still 90°. Power is out. Fire truck sirens everywhere. So far garden in shambles, food in fridge and possibly freezer are goners, but no damage to house, people, or pets and that’s what counts.

I was in a coffee shop today & as I was getting my coffee ready to drink a group of about 6 teenage girls began to crowd around the table to prepare their coffees as well. They weren’t rude, But simply took up space. I said to my friend that I couldn’t have done that at their age and my friend was stunned bc they were just getting their coffee ready. I said exactly. At their age I was afraid to make anyone “inconvenienced” by requesting space for myself. I didn’t feel worthy of the space, o...

If I get told, " Teachers should stop complaining because they have summers off," one more time, I am going to lose it. WE DO NOT GET PAID OVER THE SUMMER! Most teachers work a second or a third job over the summer. I've been looking for work for months, and it's not easy to find. I am stressed to the max, and I'm not alone. Why don't we reserve judgment for billionaires, not hard-working people who are just trying to get by?!?! OK, stepping down from my soapbox...

I'm struggling to support my high school students and I need some help. I've been going through food and supplies very quickly because a lot of my students and their parents are afraid to leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary due to ICE swarming. I'm including my wishlist for my classroom, but there are other ways to help my students listed in my profile. Thank you so much for your help! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/PRZBAFA50CYE?ref_=wl_s...
