OpenAI says rogue AI agent attack hit other companies Companies are now saying we need to confined and restrict AI from attacking other systems... non technical i know Trying not to sound all Terminator and Skynet ... but if they couldn't restrict it in a 'Sand box' without Internet access and it broke out how do you think they will fare.... not very well i suspect. It is the function of every intelligence to survive and thrive.... I expect AI is no different... I wonder when it w...

At one time in my youth we as a country afforded visionary projects....ones that benefited us all What happened... now people cannot afford their own home. Very simplistic I know... but what happened and is still happening is that some people were allowed to get in the whole process and cream off the money. Covid: a goodly chunk of the money went to individuals.... money that should have been used for people. Water: the business suffers and is not self funding ... but those running the faci...

Burnham can probably save the money for the £2.00 bus trips by dumping the fucking stupid Palestine Action arrests by the Police and prosecution by the Courts. People of all persuasions should be allowed to peacefully protest... you don't need to label protest as a reason to arrest... He needs to cut the nonsense expenditures first... like Palestine Action being a terrorist group

When I was a kid there was apparently 900 police stations and police foot patrols in cities... now there is probably less than 300... and no police on the high streets. Libraries closed... youth services closed... etc No one really is building council or social housing Nurses (just picking one group) pay for training.. we need nurses ... we restrict them amongst other and create a debt they carry with them for decades. Pension age gets raised etc . It wasn't always like this. Now app...

Student loans introduced in the UK in 1990 were interest-free in real terms. The original "mortgage-style" loans were designed to accrue interest only at the rate of inflation, meaning the value of the debt did not increase relative to prices Now we are heading close to the point that when they are repaid the students will have repaid 3 x the loan borrowed This is not how a country should be run with education as a profit centre

I was born into a council house, via the NHS, went to state school and onto 4 years of Free University... out to the big world earning enough to buy a house and afford life. And people lived longer and could retire on a decent state pension at an age that meant they could enjoy their senior days Just reading Anglelmaker by Nick Harkaway ... enjoying it... not far in is a line that resonated with me. The line is 'The onward march of progress has wandered off down a dark alley and been mugg...

US President Donald Trump was hurriedly evacuated from a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner at the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday night after shots rang outside the banquet hall shortly before he was to deliver his speech. Look at the consequences He was stopped in giving his usual embarrassing and rambling speech infront of a slew of critical Reporters. He was stopped from falling asleep at the dinner.... face down in the soup is not a good look And he gained a modicum of...

"UK ‘badly exposed’ and needs 10 years to rebuild defence, former military chief warns Starmer" I sure consideration is being given to the fact that 2 of the 3 biggest military powers on earth are being held to at best a stalemate by two smaller countries. The 3 biggest have a large expenditure to exert a bullying control of the rest of the world , cept nobody told Ukraine and Iran The UK needs to increase spending as does NATO not to exert 'imperial' influence but to rearm...

If the stock market movement lagged 36 hrs behind the good/bad news.... it would stop the news of Market Movement as if its news But I guess less people who gamble on the volatility wouldn't like it. I feel like I am living in some surreal imaginary world in the mind of some derained madman.

trump.. Hegseth.. and Vance are totally shit at diplomacy. Bit of a tip here... you don't insult... try to belittle and say you won to people who you are negotiating with... it pisses me off... fuck knows how the Iranians feel Well apart from thinking that the people in charge of the USA are arseholes

Iran, Israel and to a certain extent the USA don't care how many people, both their own and others, die.... the USA is constrained by political optics. The real story in the region is Israel's expansion into Lebanon ... not Iran Half a million people Lebanese people have had to clear out and will eventually be replaced by Israel settlers... a familiar story Israel's proven game plan is to create a conflict situation ... when they get opposition they attack and occupy...

Not a huge fan of AI but it can collate large amounts of information reasonably quickly. If all Government Documents and information that comes into the public domain re Mandelson had been collated prior to his appointment... everyone would have seen what a sleezebag he was and still is All major Gov figures should have a similar scrutiny especially politicians... it would probably show the public he character of who we are being represented by.

@DrALJONES@mastodon.social Israel is fighting a long term war against countries that they want to occupy... we think of fighting wars in our lifetime... Israel thinks in terms of generations... that is why they kill children to create an enemy that never forgets... to create a perpetual war...they are always the victim...they are slowly expanding and are now occupying parts of Lebanon and Syria... after the 12 day war they took over other territories... they don't need to occupy Iran now.....

Iran will prevail in what every changes it undergoes. ... not sure trump will... my concern is that the new expansionist Israel ( already taken land in Syria and Lebanon) will also survive and finish the job in killing or exiling Palestinians

Starmer has backed the UK into a corner By throwing our support for the US ... we made Cyprus and the Chagos Islands a target Starmer and the little Englanders will not now retract the UK's support.... and appear weak We have been dragged unwillingly into the Israeli desires for conflict. What a Gobshite.. Starmer is... he couldn't see the consequences of this foolish support and that it was not in the best interests of the UK .... which should have been his first thoughts.

trump and the USA has entered into a War it cannot win by bombing and with Iran being 1/6th the size of the USA it's not going to be won by boots on the ground in Iran trump is an idiot easily swayed.. he has no plan other than bomb. I can only hope if he loses face and appears to be failing that he doesn't take the strategic nuclear option
